Located near a prime hub for unbelievable wilderness and national forest opportunities, the area encourages individuals to relish in the great outdoors and enjoy once in a lifetime, outdoor wilderness adventures. With over 30 years of back country, pack trip experience, Burning Daylight Outfitters can provide individuals with unique, one of a kind, wilderness pack trip & fishing adventures.

Our pack trip adventures are incredible vacation getaways, perfect for families or small groups. You’ll be guided into the beautiful Routt National Forest, and the Mount Zirkel Wilderness area on sure footed mountain horses, followed by a pack string caring all of our gear. Everything needed in camp will be packed in on horseback! It's a unique experience that we truly love sharing with our clients. Guests will camp near pristine, isolated, high mountain lakes and gorgeous wild meadows, laden with wildflowers & wildlife, providing endless opportunities for guests to relax and relish in the gorgeous scenery of the Colorado Rockies!

Days can be spent relaxing with a book by a stream, hiking beautiful mountain trails, or horseback riding over the Continental Divide, where the scenery is breath taking, appearing like you're at the top of the world. You can even try your luck at fishing in the crystal clear, mountains lakes, streaming with native brook trout. These small, mighty fighters are a complete delight to catch, and will challenge anglers of all levels of experience.

Spend your evenings savoring a glass of wine by the campfire and enjoying an incredible meal, prepared over an open fire or on camp stoves. Our camp menus include, Steak and lobster tail, BBQ Chicken with home-style potato salad, luscious Spare Ribs served over buttered rice, or Mexican Fiesta night with Shredded Beef Tacos, and incredible queso dip. Occasionally we even "cook what we catch", and prepare fresh brook trout over an open flame, that will melt in your mouth like butter. We try to personalize our pack trips to suit the individual needs of our guests, so special requests are always welcome!

The views are incredible, photographic opportunities are endless and the service is premier! It's a great way to really "get away from it all" and completely relax in the private seclusion of the Colorado mountains. You've never seen so many stars or experienced the quiet solitude of the mountains like this.

At Burning Daylight Outfitters, we pride ourselves on offering unique experiences for unique customers. Each pack trip is meticulously planned with our guests, to ensure a great experience. We encourage our clients to get involved and help in the entire process! It's a wonderful experience to share with our guests, who quickly become our lifelong friends. This is an event you'll want to enjoy over and over again, but few have the privilege of experiencing.

We supply guides for the horseback riding and fishing, a camp host & cook, beautiful horses, tents, fishing gear, and all meals and drinks. For a list of recommended items for you to bring, please take a look at our "Wilderness Trip Planner". If you don't have all of the recommended gear, don't worry; we can help with that too. Sleeping bags and sleeping pads can also be provided!

Our wilderness pack trips are offered from 3 - 6 days, and we ask for a minimum of four (4) individuals to reserve a standard trip. We also provide services for smaller, private parties. If you have a smaller group, or are interested in a private trip, please send us an email and we'll construct a pack trip to suit your individual needs!

Private Pack Trips are also available! Please inquire and we will be happy to construct a wilderness pack trip to suit your needs.

Summer season in the Colorado Rockies is very short, with July and August being the only two months that we can offer these incredible trips. We highly recommend planning ahead and reserving your pack trip well in advance in order to secure your requested dates.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the balance due prior to trip departure. Four people are needed to organize a standard trip, however, we do offer options for smaller, private excursions. Additional charges may apply. Please inquire!
