Burning Daylight Outfitters

Personalized, Private Horseback Rides

Turn your "Steamboat Vacation" into a "Steamboat Adventure"!

At Burning Daylight Outfitters, we pride ourselves on "elite" service. All of our horseback rides at Burning Daylight Outfitters are private and personalized, to ensure great opportunities for our guests. All rides include a hearty lunch, and occasionally, on our full-day fishing excursions, we “cook what we catch” over an open campfire. We encourage our guests to make recommendations or requests, so please feel free to make suggestions or inquiries. We try to customize all of our rides to suit the "personalized" needs of our clients. Not all requests can be fulfilled, but we sure try! Additional fees may apply.

Children - We request that children are at least 6 years of age for half-day rides, and at least 9 years of age for full-day rides or overnight adventures. Hourly rides are also available for our younger guests. Please inquire.

Reservations/Deposits - Horseback rides are limited so advanced reservations are recommended. A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required to make a reservation, with the balance due prior to tour departure. Email us at info@burningdaylightoutfitters.com or call Don @ 970-846-0810 or Lori @ 970-846-3669 to make a reservation. FYI - many times, our jobs take us to remote, wild places where there is no cell phone coverage. If you don't reach us, please leave a voice message and we will return your call as quickly as possible.

Gratuities - Horseback riding costs do not include guide gratuity. Gratuities are not required, but very much appreciated! For groups of 6 or more individuals, an additional 15% may be added to your total group cost for guide gratuity.

What to bring with you - We always recommend that you wear long pants, to protect your legs. Wear cowboy boots if you have them or a light weight boot if possible. Please do not wear heavy, think soled hiking boots. They don't fit in the stirrups well and could create safety issues when getting your foot out of the stirrup. Tennis shoes, are fine, if that's all you have. Please do not wear open toe shoes or sandals. Please wear or bring with you a hat to protect you from the hot sun and give you some protection from rain (just in case). It's always a good idea to bring rain gear so if you have a light weight rain coat/parka and pants, that's great. Sunscreen in the mountains is always important! The sun is very intense at higher altitudes, even when it's cloudy. If you would like to bring extra snacks and drinks that's fine.

Customer Testimonial

"My family and I love to horseback ride on our trips to Colorado, but we were tired of the 2-hour, nose to tail rides that most stables offer. Then we found Burning Daylight Outfitters. They personalized a horseback ride just for my family. It was awesome! The scenery was incredible, the horses were gentle. It was a perfect day!" J. Roberts, Florida
