Wilderness Fishing Excursions
High Mountain Lake Adventures - During our lifetimes, the sun only rises on a handful of adventures. There’s just nothing like fishing for brookies in the high mountain lakes and streams in Colorado! The scenery is incredibly, the solitude and quiet can be overwhelming and fishing is fantastic! There are over 40 lakes in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness area, and many of these icy waters are streaming full of Brook Trout, a smaller, but mighty fish. Enjoy cast after cast to rising fish, only stopping to rest your weary arm. We encourage catch and release, but occasionally we “cook what we catch” over an open fire! Brook trout melt in your mouth like butter.
At Burning Daylight Outfitters we provide unique experiences for unique customers, offering full-day fishing adventures, and 3 - 6 day wilderness pack trip, fishing excursions. We take guests into pristine mountain areas, where they can relish in the nature's abundance and truly "get away from it all". We provide experienced back country guides to ensure that our guests enjoy these "once in lifetime" adventures.
Full-Day Adventures - Arrive at a beautiful, pristine, isolated high mountain lake on horseback. Relax and relish in the serenity of the mountains, while casting a line and trying your luck at catching the quick and very agile brook trout. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a cold drink, next to the lake. Then fish a while longer before heading back down the gorgeous mountain trail that leads you back home. It's an incredible adventure and a great way to spend a day in the mountains.
Three to six day overnight excursions - If one day isn’t quite enough…Spend a few nights under the mountain stars, with great meals prepared especially for you.
